What information we may collect

Account information. If you create a free account, we store the information needed to run that account — for example your login details and the skills and learning progress you save.

Saved skills and progress. When you save a skill or mark a lesson complete while logged in, that information is stored in your WordPress account data so you can return to your saved skills and continue learning. It is tied to your account — not kept only in your browser.

Contact information. If you send us a message, we collect the details you provide, such as your email address and message, so we can respond.

Cookies and analytics. Essential cookies support core functions such as login and saved progress. With your consent, we also use optional analytics — Google Analytics 4, loaded through Site Kit by Google — to see which pages, skills and lessons are most useful. Analytics cookies may include _ga and _ga_*. Google processes technical information (such as device and approximate location) to provide analytics; per Google, GA4 does not log or store raw IP addresses. Under our worldwide opt-in setup, analytics only activates after you choose “Accept analytics”, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Manage preferences”. Analytics data is retained for 2 months (event data) / 14 months (user data). We do not use advertising trackers or sell your personal information. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Web fonts. The site may load web fonts (for example, Google Fonts) to render its typography, which can involve a request to the font provider.

Bot protection

When you create an account, we use Cloudflare Turnstile on the registration form to help distinguish real visitors from automated sign-up attempts and reduce spam and abuse. Turnstile is used on the account registration form only—not elsewhere on the site. It normally checks a registration attempt before the account is created. If Cloudflare is unavailable, our failsafe allows registration to continue.

To provide this check, Cloudflare processes technical signals from the registration request, such as the IP address, browser and connection details, and the Turnstile site key and page origin, to assess whether the request is likely to be automated. Cloudflare also uses these signals to improve Turnstile’s bot-detection capabilities. Where applicable, we rely on our legitimate interest in preventing spam, abuse, and unauthorized automated activity. Cloudflare provides Turnstile; you can read Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum for details.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate the site, support and secure your account, remember your saved skills and progress, improve the learning experience, and reply to messages you send us.

How we do not use information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information, saved skills, or learning progress to train AI models. We do not share your information with advertisers.

Our approach to privacy standards

We aim to handle personal information responsibly and to align our practices with widely recognized privacy principles — including transparency, data minimization, user control, and GDPR-style principles where applicable. As a project based in Canada, we also keep Canadian privacy expectations in mind. We don’t claim to be certified under, or fully compliant with, every privacy law, but we work to do right by these principles and to improve as the platform grows.
